How and Why to post on this “blog”?
What is this “Network Design Sketchbook?
This is a hub for Climate Chance network designers, project managers to share and open their ideas for public to be scrutinised. It is the most important virtual platform for dialogues after the National Forum (physical gatherings). By making the connections, dwelling on possibilities, we “create” a climate for change.
What purpose does it serve?
1- Make transparent the process of the network design, or project planning, and more importantly, the structures governing our ways of thinking, so we can communicate with one another as to how we build our organisation.
2- Dialogue with people from outside of the network, your Ideas (from website dialogue box, emails) and our replies:
This may include:
- Anything to do with answering the question - “Why we are here” ?
- Vision- What does the world we envision look like?
- Change Model - How can we enact change in a way consistent with the emergent world?
- Who – people who are in the network, or our partners, why are they here?¬¬¬¬
3- Event Announcements, any of our members, volunteers or affiliated groups can gain access and publish events, and our team will automatically link it to all other blogs, Google calendar, twitter, face book, website etc. (depending on the scale and frequency)
Including opportunities (workshop, conferences, leadership training etc) , activities (project events), national forums (physical gatherings like playing, meetings or Bohm Dialogues) etc.
4- Any personal sharings, original ideas and thoughts, or re-blogs which one finds inspiring.
5-Resources of recommended readings by our advisors such as Peter Senge, Roger Burton about system thinkings, leaderships etc. or news on climate change or UNFCCC etc.

About Climate Chance
Founded upon our delegation to UNFCCC COP13 United Nations Conference on Climate Change in 2007, Bali, we are university students who wish to collectively help build a just and sustainable world. We are the organizers of the first Asian Youth Climate Summit in 2008 and were formerly known as the Hong Kong Climate Change Coalition, before we started establishing regional boards in Macau and other areas of China. We are currently based at the University of Hong Kong.
We believe that climate change, as a man-made planetary crisis, it is symptomatic of the larger pattern of unsustainable development of the industrial era, a system based on extraction, manipulation and transportation of natural (and human) resources towards centralized locations for the purpose of accumulation and consumption, resulting in massive social and ecological degradations. The climatic system happens to be the most fragile sets an urgent timeframe for us to question the assumptions on which our current economic-political structure is based on.
